𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝟮𝟬 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬!

For two decades, the Abbotsford Police Foundation has been dedicated to enhancing public safety, investing in youth, crime prevention programs, and strengthening police-community relationships by funding Abbotsford Police Department community programs and initiatives. 

Founded in 2005, the APF was built on the vision of 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗽𝘂𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗵𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹—three community leaders who knew that a safer city starts with a strong connection between law enforcement and the people they serve.

🏆 Jack Roberston served as a Matsqui and Abbotsford city councillor and was a passionate advocate for sports and recreation. He was instrumental in the creation of Rotary Stadium and the Western Canada Summer Games Legacy Centre, and co-founded the APF to support policing initiatives in Abbotsford.

🌳 Spud Murphy dedicated his life to public service, serving as Reeve of Matsqui and making lasting contributions to the city. His commitment to community development included selling land at cost for Abbotsford’s water supply, and he is honoured through Spud Murphy Park.

🏫 Dave Kandal served as the last Mayor of Matsqui before amalgamation in 1994 and helped lead the transition into the City of Abbotsford. A champion for education and public service, his legacy continues through Dave Kandal Elementary School.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆.

The APF has supported youth programs, crime prevention initiatives, mental health and wellness projects, community engagement events, and innovative policing tools—programs that wouldn’t be possible without community-driven funding.

This milestone is a celebration of everyone who has played a role in our success—from past and present board members to donors, sponsors, and the entire Abbotsford community. The current APF board and team remain committed to continuing this work, ensuring Abbotsford remains one of the safest cities in BC.
